Are You In That Mood Yet?!?

Yea I've been gone for a minute but I'm back. 9 months to be exact. Anyways, since I've been away, I've came across to a couple mixtapes which I've been bumping since, but I gotta review one in particular. (I also updated my page, I had to get in that mood.)

Joe Budden Mood Muzik 3

I could review every track on this mixtape and pull out at least 5 lines which are verbally destructive but I wont do that, it'll take too long. Instead I'm gonna only review a couple songs.I think Joe Budden is a convincing artist. He mastered the art of storytelling and this particular mixtape is no exception. In the track "All of Me", (which happens to be one of my favorite tracks on the mixtape along with "Dear Diary") he really constructed the songs in the form of a diary entry and tells factual tales about a course of events from his friends death to his feud with a friend. He seems to wear his heart on his sleeve and I think that's what makes him such a great artist. His wordplay is matched by few but add raw emotion and witty references and you a have a lyricist unmatched. I can't believe Jay Z is supposed to be this praised industry tycoon and he let Joe slip outta his fingers. If you ask me Jay lost.

Dear Diary: Too many quotables but a few that are over the top include:

"When you invite the nerd to the cool table, shit is bound to break up like a pool table"
"Relationships are never a threat, cuz I'll erase the history and act like we never met."
"Being so real sometimes is a slow kill, we was one squad you broke out like Mike Scoefield"

Get No Younger:

“When you’re young and reckless, nevermind who the best is. They need to get rid of their style; put it on Craig’s List."

All Of Me: This is one of those emotional joints and really had me feelin gloomy and shit. One particular chick named Tammy he referred in this song made me teary eyed, no lie.

"I dropped outta school to be dude with mad jewelry, once I got it shit wasn't even cool to me"

"I wish you all the best throughout the rest of your career, And then she broke into tears, I pressed 7, took the phone from my ears"

Damn I can go on all night about this incredible album, but all good things come to an end. Until next time, I'm signing off, and leave in the way that I greet and say PEACE, get yours nigga rep the streets.
